[Mortal Kombat Tribute]

Utter crap

Well, you got lucky, seems like people apreciate this turd.

You may be a Mortal Kombat fan but this was shittier than shit.

Summary:

You play the song
You put some subtitles around the "sound effects"
You display sprites on the screen that a/ aren't animated by you b/ don't do buck shit
You think you're a MK god for *not* animating.

I'll grant you that objects appeared on screen well timed and that Shao Khan's voice was well timed with the music (hence the 2 points for music) but apart from that, you prove to be pretty lame.

And before you point out the obvious "well you haven't made a flash", I pretty well believe you haven't written a tellable story, made a decent song, game or film in your own life and have nevertheless dissed a fair few yourself.

So go do your homework, Mr "I am a TRUE Mortal Kombat fan."

PS - watching your own film over and over proves your self-infatuation. You'd better avoid mentioning that in future.

A good, save for...

I liked the sync of action with music, well done.

A couple of notes however: fading the music out for the thunder was atmosphere breaking - you should have just left the music... or, you could have strategically cut on a beat to re-introduce the music on the arrival of the "power chording" of the chorus. Fade just doesn't work. And the pause was, well, a tad bit longish...

The other thing is that your sprites were... all the originals. Play around with them. Do something with them we don't expect....

Congrats on your 3rd place, ace!

Taking these comments into account, and probably the numerous others that may have come through, I'll be expecting you in the all time top 25 with your next flash..!

Effective

Some good animation work there and ideas.

I feel I'm being a bit harsh but the dialogues are somewhat... Cheesy... Hammed up, mostly the "intro" in the 3rd.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very enjoyable piece of work (well, the ensemble actually), I just find it lacked subtlety at points ("you will pay"/"your reign [] is ended" have always sounded rather trite to my ears...)

The second half of this one is alot better, though. Kudos.

And keep it coming!

I have voted against many a movie tonight, I don't know what is goin on...

This is quite original, I must say, never seen/heard f anything of the sort before...

The fact that the dialogue is transposed in such a way makes it even more silly (nota, in a good way)

Question: do you understand German? did you associate the images with the dialogues in any pun ways or is it just hap-hazard/what suits the sound?

A mixture of both. Some of the lines gave obvious associations, some were intented as puns and some the rest followed the basic sound of the line.
